Udvartanam and Ubatan: a healthy and beautiful skin!

In the Panchakarma, or the 5 actions of purification of Ayurveda, in addition to massages there are treatments with herbal powders. The two concepts of Udvartanam and Ubatan are distinct but linked by the same Ayurvedic concept: taking care of the individual in its entirety, even in the most superficial part, the skin, in fact. TheUdvartanam is a massage with herbal powders, but it is not a simple cleaning and scrub action: is in fact a stimulation that regenerates the blood circulation and lymphatic system and allows a reactivation of the individual at a psychological level. TheUbatan, also called "massage of the bride", is a treatment based on cereal flours that gives the skin shine and smoothness, and helps the reactivation of lymphatic circulation.

Content of the Powder Massage video course

The DVDs of Corpo Mente Spirito are built with a logic interactivity to allow the student to view and analyze each technique in its singularity. Since these are repeated maneuvers a certain number of times, we inserted a small number in the top right of the screen to help the student in counting. The shots are made in such a way to highlight the most significant aspects of the movement to be learned/deepened.
We chose non to accompany the images with the comment spoken because we believe that they are already explanatory.

1. INTRODUCTION TO HERBAL POWDER MASSAGE
   Introduction by the author, Luca Language, Ayurveda operator and purvakarma expert.
2. UDVARTANAM - TRADITIONAL TREATMENT WITH 4 HANDS
   In this section the traditional ayurveda technique is treated with 2 operators and on the Dhroni table.
3. UDVARTANAM - COMPLETE TREATMENT ON COT
   The traditional technique is not always easy to achieve because the temperature of the environment may not be suitable, the size of the receiver not necessarily flexible and the table Dhroni not easily available. For this reason we have included a section in which the Udvartanam technique is shown with a single operator and on a normal massage table.
4. UDVARTANAM - CELLULITE TREATMENT
   The choice of powders (churna in Sanskrit) is a fundamental element of this treatment. If you use the powder called Gruadumadi Churna, you can achieve effective anti-cellulite effects. In this section is shown the treatment intended for the reduction of blemishes of cellulite.
5. UBATAN - BACK TREATMENT
   In this part of the video course is shown the Ubatan, "the massage of the spouses" and is taught both the technique to make the ball of flour and oil and the technique to carry out the gommage. We chose the back as an example area, but the technique can be done in the same way on the whole body without changing the movements.
